I dont know if they are from the washer or dryer, or even why they are appearing, but these streaks are ruining my clothes. They will NOT come out! HELP!!After I wash and dry my laundry, little brown streaks appear on the lighter items. Anyone know why/how to fix?
Check your washing machine drum. Often, zippers, metal buttons and other items scape away the protective surface of the drum and those nicks produce rust which transfers to garments being washed. You can apply appliance touch up paint to the drum (home improvement store carry it) which will eliminate the source of those streaks appearing on your garments. You can also use Whink a rust removal solution on the garments to remove the stains.
If there are no rust spots or nicks in the surface of the washing machine drum, it is the mineral content of the water. You can prevent it from depositing on the garments by adding a water softening and conditioning detergent which removes the mineral content of the water. There are many brands available in the laundry aisle. After I wash and dry my laundry, little brown streaks appear on the lighter items. Anyone know why/how to fix?
Stop S**ting your pants
More than likely they are streaks of rust coming from either machine.
The only way to remove them maybe is taking them to a professional cleaners.
i would get a new washer and dryer
What you are seeing is soap residue from the clothes not rinsing properly.
What gives with the poop remarks?
Do you poop your pants often?
(Could it be iron/rust in your water supply line?)
try wiping your bum properly!!! lol
Are you overdrying your clothes??? Could be burns!
Also could be grease from washing work clothes pehaps....
Try washing ONLY a few pieces to see if it happens - perhaps some old lighht-colored rags, just in case. If no success, try hand washing a few and ONLY putting them in the dryer. If anything, it will help you determine which machine it is.
Good luck!
they sound like rust stains to me, and they may not come out. You could try a color-safe bleach on the spots or peroxide--but test an inconspicous area of the garment first for colorfastness. Most likely it is from the washer. Carefully examine the washer's drum for nicks that could expose bare metal prone to rust. An appliance store should have a touch-up paint kit that will cover those spots. Good luck.
sounds like rust from your washer, or crayon from your dryer.
Throw old towels in the washer and run thru the cycle- it streaks appear- you know it is from your washer. If not, next use the dryer- if streaks appear- that is your problem. Clean with goo-gone and soapy water.
maybe rust?
Look for rust in your machines
Sounds like your water is tainted or you're getting rust from somwhere (pipes? The machine itself).
However, not making a skidmark reference was difficult...
