No, don't clean with laundry soap. Vacuum with a nylon over the nozzle of the vacuum cleaner. There is a special product to clean stuffed animals you can buy. You can use an oxy type powder but only use the bubbles, rub on with a white terry cloth and rub off with a dry white terry cloth. Use your hairdryer to dry it quickly or it picks up more dirt. The problem with white is the dirt smears and you have a worse mess. You can put corn starch in a bag with the bear and shake it, then vacuum off the cornstarch. You can use a drycleaning product in the dryer. Make sure you air it out. Search google for the product made to clean stuffed animals or try the cornstarch. It may just need a good vacuuming and spot clean any stains. How do you clean a collectable stuffed animal is it safe to wash them with laundry soap?
Use shampoo -- the nonirritating ';baby shampoo'; if you have any -- and wash it with a washcloth -- don't dunk the whole animal in water.
If you need to wash it completely, don't use laundry soap--dishwashing soap is much gentler. Wash it in the sink, and let it dry thoroughly.
I would just spot clean it. Don't place it in the washer. Use something safe such as Woolite
Use the Build-a-Bear fur cleaner...follow the instructions.
