How does ';wash & fold'; laundry services work?

Folks,

My wife and I are at our wits end with laundry. We both work and have 3 kids and cannot find time to wash and fold laundry.

I have heard of dry cleaners offering ';wash %26amp; fold'; services but is this a real time saver? How much does it cost? Do they sort it? When we get it back...will they separate out husband, wife, kid1, kid2, kid3.....or do we just get a huge pile back. How do they package it (i.e.-in a box, bag or what). Will I be able to get it home with it still folded? Is it common for them to offer pick-up and delivery? How much do they charge for that?

Basically, do you think ';wash %26amp; fold'; is going to help us out...or is it for single folks with simple needs....I think it will be confusing for a service to figure out what to do with the clothing for a family of 5.How does ';wash %26amp; fold'; laundry services work?
You should ask these questions of the cleaners. Also, do you really want somebody pawing at your wife's unmentionables whilst fantasizing? And ten minutes later she shows up to take them home? How does ';wash %26amp; fold'; laundry services work?
They charge by the pound. They do sort the laundry as far as colors go, but depending on them to wash delicates separately, sort those yourself. As far as separating each individuals clothes, good luck, but you can do that yourself at home and request that those items be laundered and folded together. They will separate towels from clothes and shirts from pants. If you have your clothes laundered at the same place each week, just like a dry cleaner, they'll get to know you and how you like things done. Leave them a list and they will attempt to comply. At it's worst, you'll just have to separate each person's while putting the clothes away. It's a huge burden lifted and it's worth it, geeze, laundry, right? Hope you find a cleaner that you'll be pleased with, we have and life sure is easier.
Wash and fold, or fluff and fold here is GREAT. I started using it in Los Angeles and now in Upstate NY. Very simple, drop the stuff off, they wash and fold it and put it in a bag or wrap it with papaer. They will not seperate it by your family, however, if you drop it off seperate, they will keep it that way. Ex. You have a family of five, drop off 5 bags, or get each family member a different color laundry bag and the company will wash that also, and keep the clothes in each bag seperate. I pay 75 cents a pound and it include all cleaning supplies.(I drop off and pick up) In New York City it was 1.25 a pound including pick up and delivery..King Cleaners..Great Job!!!
I have a place out here in Southern Arizona that I use. They do charge by the pound but usually it includes the soaps. I have a family of 5 and sort the clothes by the person. They usually try to keep the clothes that you seperate, seperated.
bring clothes in they weigh it ,according to how much it weighs is how much they charge then extra are ironing. usually next day service. softners have to be requested.
