What can I use instead of Laundry soap to wash clothes?

A very small amount of dish liquid...Maybe a Tablespoon...What can I use instead of Laundry soap to wash clothes?
Dr Bronners!!What can I use instead of Laundry soap to wash clothes?
I have used liquid dish washing soap before. Just don't put too much in or you will get a lot of bubbles.
Try white Vinegar.
motor oil
Regular soap will work.

You might need to add a water softener like washing soda, and keep an eye on how many suds are formed if you are machine washing. You need some suds but you don't want to flood out the laundry room.

It it is bar soap you need to grate it before using it in a machine. but if you are hand washing you just rub it on the clothes.

You could rub it on clothes before putting them in a machine but grating it with a kitchen grater is easier.
Shampoo does well, but it is more expensive.
